These two shops has been quite hyped up from parenting sites and forums stating that they have a wide range of accessories for baby needs, including strollers, cots, baby car seats, etc.
And so we went over to the east side from our west humble abode to take a first look at their offerings.
Baby Kingdom
In a nutshell, Baby Kingdom looks and feels more traditional, appealing to couples that are looking at more asian type of products. The strollers and car seats they offer are brands from Asia, such as Combi and Capella. I think I have confirmed what the sales person back in Spring Maternity told me. Combi products are price fixed, unless you can negotiate a discount. I have already seen like 5 to 6 places offering Combi products and the prices remain the same!
That is this stroller that also caught our attention. The Capella S-217 with Capella S-1100.
The combined price is only $379. Very very affordable. And I was actually thinking that the Graco Ultima + TS at $499 is cheap!
Of course, there is a downside to it or more specifically to us. Our 2 door car is the problem. We cannot afford to get an infant carrier since there is no rear doors and to shift the infant carrier in and out of the front doors to the rear seats is a hassle. This option is very likely to be out for us. I think we have fixed our mind that we need a permanent car seat fixed at the rear with us moving the baby in and out and another stroller capable of holding the baby from birth to about 3 years, preferably lightweight too.
The other thing that caught our attention was the Taurus white baby cot. Hazel wants the furniture to be white in order to match the wall paint properly. At $359, it is much more affordable then the one she saw at Mothercare costing about $800+. Shortlisted item!
On the second level, it houses pretty much most of the accessories such as breast pump, sterilizers, baby clothes, high cars, play toys, etc. The staff there are quite ok. There is this lady that keeps following us around when we are looking at the strollers on level one. I suspect that they are commission based. Her service and attitude leaves much to be desired though.
Baby Hyperstore

This is Baby Hyperstore which we went after going to Baby Kingdom. I should have taken more photos of Baby Kingdom. Baby hyperstore is quite the opposite from Baby Kingdom. The product offerings are more attuned to the higher end products. The strollers, car seats, cots, that they offer are all products from the Western part of the world. Brands like Peg Pegro, Quinny, McClaren, Maxi Cosi are everywhere in the store. You will be at awe when you first entered their showroom. The first part consist of a huge collection of car seats and strollers. They also have a bench where catalogs of all the brands they offered are displayed and you could make a special order for items not in the store. We are not too interested in their product range since we do not want to spend too much on these items.

This is the second part of the store. As you can see, the place here is quite deserted. Most of the crowd are at the first place where the strollers and car seats are at. Their children/baby room furniture collection is beautiful but costly.
We saw this cot which looks really nice but it will set us back by about $959. Too expensive for our taste.

Compared to Baby Kingdom, we left the place rather quickly. And, we were not served by any one at all at Baby Hyperstore.
