Play & Eat on Father's Day

If you have been following my blog, you will know that I am currently busy with meeting a deadline to finish my studies, which I have been dragging my feet at. So, when all daddies are out for a good time today with their family, I am at home cramming and concentrating to finish my thesis. But I just had to bring Jayden out for some fun time and the nearest was just right below our HDB.

Jayden has been here before and he had quite a lot of fun then. So why not come back here again for a 30 minutes playground time!

Somehow, he seem to be not so daring as the previous time. He will want me to hold his hand while climbing on the stairs while previously, he was rushing to crawl up the stairs all by himself!

I guess the more they grow, the more they are wary of surroundings. Apart from the usual words he mumbles, he will say "scared scared" when he sees something unfamiliar.

P6171805

Quite wary of climbing down!

And this time round, he wasn't going like a bullet, zooming up and down the slides. He played the slides only thrice.

The rocking things interest him more.

We are still worried about his walking cos he still walks around at not a very stable manner, whereas his peers at the toddler class are pretty steady at running.

And another rocking stuff. New favorite.

He keeps asking for more. No problem!

And since we have already celebrated Father's Day the day before, we didn't want to squeeze with the expected crowd at Jurong Point and settled for the budget sushi place, Sakae Sushi @ The Frontier Community Club.

Woah. They changed the menu. Guess we have really not been here for quite some time already. Hazel pointed out that they removed her favorite sushi - Egg Mayo! I checked my favorite dish - Salmon Karraage. Ok, still have. ^_^ With the new menu and new dishes, Hazel ordered quite a number of the new dishes to try out!!

Frontier Sakae

Salmon Cheese ($4.29). This is basically salmon belly sushi with added cheese, torched and then a hint of mayo on top. Not too bad, I do enjoy this combination of flavors.

Frontier Sakae

Salmon Mayo Maki ($4.29). Sweet bean curd  wrap with salmon mayo. Hmmm, this combo doesn't really work for me.

Frontier Sakae

Salmon Craze Maki ($6.29). Salmon roll for salmon lovers. I am a salmon lover. But I don't really dig this.

Frontier Sakae

Yaki Corn ($2.29) Interesting way to prepare a corn sushi. This is simple yet nice.

The rest of the dishes that we ordered were normal and are our standard dishes which I didn't even bothered to take a photo. Somehow, I think that Sakae Sushi is also getting more expensive. Without credit card discounts, the bill came up to $45. Not exactly budget if you ask me.

Jayden was again a rather happy boy here. And that reminds me. The main reason we stopped coming to Sakae Sushi is the poor layout of the restaurants, There is no baby chair to say here. They will only offer you a booster seat which is rather flimsy and Hazel is holding it down 100% of the time.

Looking innocent…...

你看什么?? Cheeky face!!!

That's it. While we did not go anywhere special, I still enjoy my Father's Day!
